Steered and inspired by M.K. Choudhary, the Saraswatii Foundation was founded in 2012 with the sole aim of empowering, educating, and aiding weavers and their families residing in the most remote rural areas of India. Since its inception, the foundation has been dedicated towards empowerment and improvement of weaver villages. Each and every member of the foundation has been working tirelessly to help weavers and their families achieve a sustainable livelihood.
Driven by a strong mandate of educating empowering the illiterate and the seemingly weaker sections of the society, the foundation have acted as a thriving source of employment for 10, 000 weavers--- 60% of whom are women. SGPL has sincerely worked towards the sustainable development of the weaving community of the nation, besides acting as an exciting platform for them to showcase their skills.
Here is a glimpse of the main objectives of the concern:
To empower artisans.
To support the overall development of the community with a sharp focus on Education, Society, Health.
To provide a solid economic base to these artisans and weavers
To embrace the “extended family concept” while working.
Spread mainly across 4 major states of India, namely, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa and Gujarat, Saraswati Global Pvt Ltd has backed several foundation initiatives like
Educational and Skill Development Program.
One of the major steps taken by SGPL in the area of social responsibility is the establishment of the B.R.
